I think the unannounced survival game is going to be a big deal and the highlight of the show but they could possibly make one more major announcement, especially now that Metzen is back at the company - they want to bring the hype. The new unannounced survival game, WoW expansion, Diablo 4 update/expansion, Hearthstone expansion or major features, Arclight Rumble announcement date, the other mobile game they cancelled but are actually are still working on. IMO expect a lot of announcements this year. Since this is a big deal for them, they will absolutely be doing everything they can to knock it out of the park - so they don't have another Diablo Immortal announcement fiasco. Even that said, Gamescom is a big deal but they didn't want to wait until November to announce any new content.īlizzard has been planning this Blizzcon for a few years now and they have been worried about returning to normal. Like Legion was announced at Gamescom in August of 2015 because WoD was in a terrible place and was released in Nov 2014 but the final patch (6.2) was already out on June 22nd of 2015 with no future content really planned.

They major times they didn't do expansion announcements during a Blizzcon were during off years or when weird circumstances were at play. They 100% will be announcing it this Blizzcon IMO.
